About Erasmus+

Welcome to the Erasmus+ page in Ireland, managed by Léargas and the Higher Education Authority.  This site introduces Erasmus+ and directs you to where you can find more information about funding and opportunities.

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme that supports education, training, youth and sport in Europe.  The programme started in 2014 and runs to the end of 2020.  There are lots of opportunities to set up projects, spend time abroad and gain new skills.  The EU has budgeted €14.7 billion on Erasmus+ over the seven years of the programme.

Every euro that we invest in Erasmus+ is an investment in the future — in the future of a young person and of our European idea. I cannot imagine anything more worthy of our investment than these leaders of tomorrow. As we celebrate the 9 millionth person to take part, let’s make sure we are 9 times more ambitious with the future of the Erasmus+ programme.– Jean-Claude Juncker
